forward deployed / product engineer
you'd own our gear in the field. when a customer's camera or app acts up, you figure out why and ship the fix. most likely based in shenzhen alongside our hardware team, with travel to deploy sites when something needs hands on.

robots can see and move, but they still can't feel. 6thsense builds stereo cameras and tactile gloves and captures how people use their hands, so robots can learn to touch. we do all of it, hardware, firmware, software and data, in one small team.
what you'll do
- own the technical side of our current customers
- chase down camera, app and firmware bugs in the field, fix them fast and keep deployments happy
- take a customer issue end to end and tell whether it's the operator, the app or the camera
- fly out to deploy sites when something breaks and needs hands on
- pick up firmware tasks alongside our hardware team in shenzhen when they need extra hands
who you are
- a hands-on generalist across python, linux, mobile, aws and some embedded
- comfortable debugging real devices, not just web
- genuinely excited to work abroad: a china base and a lot of travel
- you want to be in robotics / physical ai for the long haul, not just looking for a job
- you learn fast, which matters more to us than your current skillset
even better
- you've been forward deployed, in solutions or early engineering at a robotics or hardware startup
- you've shipped hardware or device software people depended on, and fixed it on site
- you've built your own robot, drone, camera rig or firmware hacks, and can show it
- robotics competitions or a robot learning lab
- you've lived or worked in asia (mandarin is a big plus)

- location: most likely based in shenzhen, china, near our hardware team, with frequent travel to customer deploy sites
- pay: competitive salary, plus equity with vesting
